Hotel Indigo Coventry, a new boutique hotel located in the heart of Coventry, celebrated a major construction milestone with a topping out ceremony on April 20th, 2023.
The ceremony marked the completion of the hotel’s structural framework, and brought together the project team, including representatives from the hotel’s owner, Castlebridge Group, the construction company, Bowmer + Kirkland, and Coventry City Councillor, Jim O’Boyle, to commemorate the occasion.
The Hotel Indigo Coventry, which is set to open in late 2023, will offer 101 stylish and spacious guest rooms, suites, a restaurant, bar, and gym. The hotel will showcase the brand’s unique design philosophy that is inspired by the local neighbourhood, incorporating elements of Coventry’s history and culture into the hotel’s aesthetic.
“We are thrilled to celebrate this important milestone in the development of the Hotel Indigo Coventry,” said James Cattrell, Development Manager of Castlebridge Group. “This topping out ceremony is a significant moment for us as we look forward to welcoming guests to this vibrant and dynamic city later this year.”
Councillor Jim O’Boyle, cabinet member jobs, regeneration and climate change said, “Hotel indigo is set to be a brilliant addition to the city centre and to Coventry. It will provide unique visitor accommodation and its prime location means the bar and restaurant, which will be open to all, is also set to be enjoyed by local people and visitors alike.
“It has been great to see the building take shape and I’m pleased it will open later this year. We have a growing and diverse number of places that overnight visitors can stay in the city and I this should help us to attract even more visitors to come and find out for themselves what a great city Coventry is.
The Hotel Indigo Coventry is located near Coventry train station, which is just a short walk from Coventry Cathedral and the city’s many other cultural attractions. The hotel is part of a wider Friargate regeneration project that is set to transform this area of the city into a bustling hub of activity.
